STUNT is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, focusing on the technical, athletic, and competitive skills of cheer without the crowd-leading component. Murrieta Valley High School proudly fields both JV and Varsity STUNT teams, giving athletes the opportunity to compete head-to-head against other schools in a fast-paced format that highlights partner stunts, pyramids, jumps, tumbling, and team routines. This unique sport provides cheerleaders with an additional opportunity to develop their athletic abilities, competitive experience, teamwork, and leadership while representing the Nighthawks in a highly competitive environment.

STUNT is a Spring sport, with teams typically formed in November and practices beginning in January. Practices are generally held three days per week before competitions begin, with games typically taking place weekly at schools throughout the Temecula and Murrieta Valleys. Athletes are strategically placed on teams based on their individual skill level and experience, allowing both developing and advanced athletes to contribute and grow. While previous stunting experience is highly recommended, advanced tumblers without extensive stunt experience may also be welcomed into the program.

Athletes interested in STUNT are strongly encouraged to develop their stunting or tumbling skills prior to tryouts. The program requires dedication, athleticism, teamwork, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a competitive environment. Murrieta Valley STUNT has provided athletes with opportunities to earn collegiate recognition and scholarships for their athletic abilities, while the Nighthawk program has proudly earned CIF honors and State Championships. STUNT athletes represent the continued growth and competitive excellence of MVHS Cheer, bringing determination, skill, and Nighthawk pride to every competition.
