Our nationally competitive Coed Competition Cheer Program challenges dedicated athletes to perform at the highest level of the sport while proudly representing the Murrieta Valley Nighthawks. Competing against elite programs from across California and throughout the nation, our athletes combine advanced stunting, tumbling, synchronization, and performance to create routines that showcase athleticism, precision, teamwork, and school pride. Our competitive teams participate in both Game Day and Traditional categories, striving for excellence throughout the season while representing the Nighthawks at regional, state, and national competitions. The program includes both female and male athletes who work together to create dynamic and high-level stunting combinations.

The Competition Team is typically selected in July, with practices beginning immediately following the tryout process. Practices continue throughout the summer and fall and typically take place three to four days per week, often including extended practices dedicated to choreography, conditioning, tumbling, and advanced stunting. Membership on this team requires an exceptional level of commitment, discipline, dedication, and drive, as athletes are expected to consistently challenge themselves and work toward exceeding coaching expectations. The program is best suited for experienced cheerleaders with a foundation in stunting, tumbling, performance, and showmanship who are prepared to make cheerleading a significant priority in their schedule.

Competition cheer also requires commitment beyond practices and competitions. Athletes must maintain their academic standing while balancing an intensive training schedule, traveling for competitions, and participating in fundraising efforts to help offset the costs associated with a competitive program. MVHS Comp has provided athletes with opportunities to earn collegiate recognition and scholarships for their athletic abilities. Those selected for the Competition Team are recognized as some of the most dedicated and driven athletes within MVHS Cheer. Together, they represent the highest level of commitment within our program and embrace the responsibility of representing the Nighthawks with excellence, pride, and integrity both on and off the competition floor.
